Herring Run ArtsFest was founded in 1999 by Massachusetts citizens interested in supporting a local cultural community by discovering and promoting new artistic works and fresh talent within a variety of genres, including visual arts & flowers, theater, music, poetry, film, and dance (see each icon for details). Currently, the steering committee consists of Middleborough and Lakeville, Massachusetts residents.
--To identify and tap an ever-growing talent pool of area artists (including all forms of the literary arts, visual arts, and the performing arts) and provide a venue and audiences for their performance and exhibition of new and emerging works.
--To bring to the regional community (free of charge) a wealth of talent, culture, and entertainment that broadens the existing arts and culture offerings of the area. This no-charge/donation-based structure provides opportunities for all to experience quality cultural performances and exhibitions, regardless of socio-economic status.
--To attract audiences and artists locally and from neighboring towns who will recognize Middleborough as an important culture center.
--To develop partnerships with existing local organizations to support their endeavors which are in alignment with the mission objectives already stated.
